MINI MAGAZINE CLASSIC CAR PHOTOGRAPHY SUSSEX

30/10/2019
The Mini is a small economy car produced by the English-based British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered an icon of 1960s British popular culture. its space-saving transverse engine and front-wheel drive layout – allowing 80% of the area of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage – influenced a generation of car makers. So the addition of a van top the range was always going to be a popular choice, perfect for small businesses and also for father and Geoff and Lee Hazelden who transformed this 1979 example in to a stunning car.

The photo shoot took place with kind permission by the management team at Ashdown Park Hotel in the Ashdown Forest, a beautiful hotel that also has its own Church in the grounds as it used to be a nunnery. The weather was perfect with some subtle sunshine and soft blue skies working with the colour of the autumn scenery. The photos will be used for a future Mini magazine feature where Lee Hazelden will explain the process of getting this car back to showroom condition.

Although the weather conditions were perfect I used the Profoto lighting set up to add some n ice fill in light to enhance the shine of the cars chrome and paintwork. The Mini magazine which features Geoof and Lee's car will be out in the next couple fo months.
