FRANKIE'S CLASSIC AND SPORTS CAR SHOW

04/09/2019
All types of classic cars from Pre 1958 to post 1998 were on display. For 2019, an extra event as part of the main show was the 50th birthday of the iconic Ford Capri, there was a special display of all sorts of Capris on the Dunton Test Track.

As the event takes place at Ford's technical centre it has been predominantly focused on the blue oval marque, but as the show grows in popularity more classic and exotic cars have started to appear, E Type Jaguar's, Ferrari 308's, AC Cobras, the list goes on! I was covering the event for the St Francis Hospice and Fast Ford magazine, last year the show brought in £25,000 for the charity, this year it is looking to be a round the £35,000 mark, an amazing increase and shows how much love the UK has for the car scene and such a worthwhile charity.

I love the show due to its mix of old and new cars, the live music, dancing and the annual evolving celebration of different Ford models, last year was the Mustang and the year prior the Focus MK1 RS, not sure what will be the focus (pardon the pun) next year but i'm expecting the show to be even bigger and better. Big thank you to Alan Mason who is the organiser of the event, the staff and volunteers from St Francis Hospice who help out on the day, and of course all of the car owners who take the time to bring their immaculate cars along on the day.
