RAMBLING' MAN FAIR 2017

31/07/2017
Rambling’ Man Fair is an annual music festival celebrating classic and contemporary rock, progressive rock, blues and country. Rambling’ Man Fair has the perfect location in Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent – close to London and easily accessible from continental Europe, and surrounded by beautiful English countryside. My role today was to cover the event on behalf of sponsors Shepherd Neame, they had massive beer tent on site and were after a glimpse of the day including some of the acts. The four stages covered a variety of acts over the three days to a sold out audience of 30,000 rock fans.

I had just covered the Classic Cars on the Green in Bearsted car show, only a ten minute drive from Mote Park and a short walk led me to the festival, a great atmosphere spread across the venue with a really laid back vibe, another nice aspect was the space avail;able never at any time did it feel too busy, apart for the press pit for our first three songs coverage. The perfect lens for the rock music photography was the 70-200mm, no problem with lighting at all, I even had to under expose by one stop to keep the contrast in the images. Highlight was not just seeing ZZ Top but being close up to photograph them, a real honour. Tickets have just gone on sale for next years festival, coming up to its fourth year this rock weekend is proving to be a real highlight on the calendar now.
