LOTUS EVORA SPORTS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY

17/03/2017
The owner of the Evora wanted some images of the car, although we had taken some on my photography courses at Brooklands today was a specific car photography session on the Evora, plenty of time to find some different settings and cover some more detailed shots. Although a sports car this Evora has the option of the rear bench seat and a good sized boot, enough to get all of my kit in along with two sets of Profoto lighting. The camera bag looked at home perching on the rear seats, kit wise I used the 24-70mm exclusively for the shoot, great scope for some wide images, not too wide at 24mm to distort the car, plus it works well for close up detailed photos.

The balance of the two Profoto B1 and B2 lights against the strong sunshine work wonders, I was surprised at how well the 250 watt B2 on its own over powered the sun as well. The Lotus Evora 400 is built in the UK by one of the most renowned sports car companies in the world, full of heritage and great respect through the motoring world of producing dynamic c driving cars that are geared up for track and also even day use. Powered by a 3.5 litre V6 engine it produces 400bhp and has a top speed of 186mph. Weighing it at just under 1400kg it sprints from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, and although it is a sports car the ride is generally comfy. Dynamically it looks great, good to photograph from any angle and the red leather interior really sets the interior off against the signature silver paintwork.
