BMW M4 GTS SPORTS CAR PHOTOGRAPHY

13/03/2017
Since October when the owner collected the GTS from Broad Oak BMW in Ashford the car has only had 170 miles on it, this is a very rare car and premiums have been going up since deliveries. The photography was taken in the village of Egerton, a pretty and peaceful place that was awaken on a sunny Monday afternoon. The GTS has a thunderous roar to it, up by just under 70 bhp on the standard M4 and 30kg lighter due to weight savings, mainly with the use of carbon fibre throughout the noise echoes through the cabin. The frozen paint finish sets off the orange cross spoke alloys and roll cage perfectly, the low stance of the car shows its true track credentials as well.

The car photography in Kent took place around a backdrop of village pubs, the local parish hall and some country lanes, a real contrast where you would expect the car to be. The sun was blazing and with the two Profoto location lights set up Iwas able to direct the light exactly where I wanted it to go, the pairing of the 500 watt B1 and 250 watt B2 is ideal as you have complete control over the ambient light. With the paintwork having a matt finish to it as well this made it vital to get the lights in the right position and to show off the sculpted lines of the coupe.

I used the 14-24mm for the wide interior images as I wanted to show the roll cage against the plush cockpit, all of the other photos were taken with the 24-70mm, this just gave me flexibility and works great for those detailed shots.
